Materials needed:

  • Two EURO pallets
  • Four casters
  • Power tools: jigsaw, sander & screwdriver
  • Stain & rag - why wipe stain than to brush it?

Step-by-step instructions:

First of all, you need half of the first pallet. For this, you'll need to cut one of the two pallets in half. Check out our best methods to dismantle a pallet. But, if your superpower (as you can see in the video) isn't enough, use a jigsaw to cut the pallet in half! ;)

Then, you'll need 4 narrow slats for the top of the table.

IMPORTANT:Measure the space between the slats carefully because the distance can be different by each side.

For the bottom of the table, you will use some planks from the second pallets. For this coffee table, we made a shelf only on one side of the table.
You could unjoint the pallet easily with a help of a reciprocating saw. But an iron saw is enough as well... just saw the rusty nails and the slats will get off.

The next step is sanding.

Yes, sanding wood can get boring... BUT the final result compensate for that!
For this table, we used 80 grit paper (the higher the number, the finer the grade. Lower-numbered grades denote coarser sandpaper).

Check out our wood sanding tips for any pallet project.

Almost the last step: staining.

It's more efficient to wipe stain than to brush it. You're less likely to have color problems.

Now, fix all slats with nails and screws.

Top of the coffee table, fix the slats with nails.

Use screws instead of nails to fix bottom slats. The table will be even stronger.

Bottom of the coffee table, fix the slats with screws.

And finally, fix the white casters (colors is your choice) on the bottom of the coffee table. They will give a classy look to this coffee table! I love it. :)

And here it is! I hope you like this tutorial that shows you how to build a coffee table easily!
