How I Built this Kids Pallet Bed/Playhouse:
I constructed the bed and playhouse out of timber frame that I covered in MDF boarding.
I clad the sides of the build with pallet wood. I broke the pallets down and ran them through a planer to make them all uniformly thick. I then chamfered the edges using a palm router and 45-degree bit. Doing this step gave more definition between the boards.
We decided to fit steps on the end as opposed to a ladder as our son is now 3 and would probably find the ladder tricky in the dark. We added some fun touches, like putting a chalkboard on the end wall and framed it with pallet wood.
I coated the entire build with a tough varnish. Hopefully it’ll withstand a toddler! I built this in about 12 hours.
