My son didn’t have a headboard for his twin size bed, so I decided to make him this Twin Size Pallet Wood Headboard. It was relatively straightforward to build in one afternoon.
You need one pallet, a few 2×4″ boards & some OSB, and you’ll be able to make this beautiful Twin Size Pallet Wood Headboard!
The frame was 2X4″s and a piece of 1/2″ OSB that I used for a backing for the pallet deck boards. The only tricky part was making sure there were no gaps in between the pallet wood. To minimize the spaces, I squared one end of each board on my miter saw and then cut to length. Next, I ripped both sides of most of the boards down on my table saw before using wood glue and 1 1/4″ trim nails to attach the deck boards to my OSB back. After construction, I sanded with coarse, medium, and then fine-grit sandpaper with my orbital palm sander. I stained it with golden oak stain and then applied one coat of satin polyurethane. Attached it to his pallet bed frame with four bolts after drilling the holes through the 2X4’s. It came out looking great and is very sturdy.
