I made this hutch to place on top of my desk for extra privacy and storage. It’s 100% handmade from three reclaimed wood pallets.
I am an amateur woodworker and a professional chef. The building process of this pallet desk hutch took about 2 weeks of on and off work, being a chef means extremely long days every shift, but I was rather simple and very gratifying.
I’m a little tossed up on the finish, but seem to like it better and better every day. I used a tong oil (my first experience with this kind of oil) and it took almost the whole can but the coolest part is that the wood is constantly changing color and aging even after I placed it in position in my room. Also the back makes a beautiful headboard for my bed that I didn’t plan or expect. Added bonus! :)
