Everyone needs something to make them smile every day, and this fantastic, hilarious Angry Bird Chicken Coop would be a brilliant idea! I made this chicken coop is made from pallets, recycled bed slats, and more found items. It cost around 50 dollars for paint and hardware. I enlisted a friend to paint with an excellent Angry Birds "graffiti bomb."
Angry Bird Chicken Coop:
I needed a chicken coop but wasn't sure what design I wanted. So, I went to 1001pallets.com and got some inspiration. First, I found three pallets and broke them down. I began assembling this in my garage and built a basic box frame, including using short pieces as needed, except for the back wall. I framed out a nesting box in the rear, which worked well for the profile to make the henhouse bird-shaped. Then, I built a hinged mini-roof over the nesting box so that I can collect eggs. I made the entry door in a triangular shape. It looks good and minimizes the drafts on the birds. Finally, I built a beak that acts as a portico for the birds. They can look out and not get rained on.
Angry Bird Chicken Coop - final touches:
I added a ramp using a scrap board and recycled some bed slats for a ladder that the birds can easily grip. Then I roofed it with a few leftover shingles I had. Finally, I asked my friend, who is a talented graffiti artist, to come over and work his magic. I think it came out fantastic, and love seeing the birds coming in and out of the fun and cheery henhouse.
