I needed a shoe shelf in the hall so I could get through the front door. It took around 4 hours to make in total because I allow plenty of time for procrastinating. Selecting the correct pallet is the most significant bit. Measure and cut the wood. Sand it all down (use a sander). Paint the wood in vegetable oil and let it dry overnight (it just enhances the natural colour of the wood). Screw it all together (pre-drill the holes for the screws to stop the wood splitting).
