I needed a work table I could roll in and out of my garage. A workspace tall enough to stand at or use with a shop stool. I do prop building for cosplay and like to work outside in the summer.
The framing lumber is salvaged pallet wood. I have a custom metal shop nearby and they occasionally have free oversized pallets. The table frame is made from 2×4’s. The legs are 3 3/4” birch. The top is 1/2” plywood. The work table is on 3” swivel casters.
The finished table dimensions are 36” high x 24” deep x 48” wide and the table is approximately 39 inches high with the casters. It will have a wood backsplash with a magnetic tool bar mounted on it. I put corner trim around the top and on the shelf below.
This will be a work in progress for most of the summer. Later, I will add a power strip and tool hooks to the sides. I may just seal it with a water-based polyurethane (if I get around to it.)
It was a fun piece to build. Now, I need to find a permanent place in my garage for it, the easiest part! :)
