We made this Children’s Pallet Picnic Table using a large 200 x 120cm (approx. 78.75″ x 47.25″) pallet. This bench measures 100 x 56 cm (approx. 39.25″ x 22″), which is a very comfortable size for children. We had fun picking out the paint, and used a good-quality exterior paint in a bright lime green color!
Children’s Pallet Picnic Table Build:
First, we created the two A-frames for the table. We cut four legs to the same length and angled both ends. Next, we cut two pieces for the top of the A-frame, and two longer pieces for the center of the A-frames. We installed these with 3″ carriage bolts and nuts. Next, we installed the top of the table to the two A-frames we created. Then, we installed the bench seats. Finally, we added the two additional table supports that are cut at angles as well.
Children’s Pallet Picnic Table Finish:
We sanded everything thoroughly. Next, we used a high-quality exterior primer per the directions. Then, we applied a good quality exterior paint in a fun lime green color to make the bench appealing to the kids.
Editor’s note: We found a similar plan with a cut list and build directions at Instructables.com and at HomeDepot.com.
