This is my first pallet project. Flooring in our new build house.
Hunted for pallets, not as hard as I thought. Then, I bought the necessary tools and nails and it’s a work in progress. This is an ongoing project for the next two weeks.
You’ll need the following:
- Thicknesser planer,
- hammer,
- miter saw,
- pallet breaker,
- a good vacuum cleaner is also handy.
I bought most from the local Screwfix, just to mention I also have Tourettes syndrome and ADHD.
Breaking the pallets took about two days. Planing (a half inch) and edging (70mm wide) took the longest, roughly 4 days to do enough wood for the upstairs bedrooms and landing. It took less than 3 hours to lay one bedroom floor. Try doing more with a 2 yr old wanting to help. A palleteer in training. I bought a Triton thicknesser planer for £160 and vacuum cleaner for £50. I already had the miter saw.

Looks good nice job
It’d look much better with staggered joints…
That is beautiful❣️
Thanks means alot.
With grip nails upstairs and masonry nails downstairs.
What have the boards been nailed to?
Hi, great job. How are you fixing the pieces to the ground?
