During a detour in a sales depot, I came across two old 50/60 serving carts. One was a little rusty, and both were painted a very average gray. Seeing the potential of the furniture, I decided to buy the two. I restored both and combined them into this Metal-framed Mobile Pallet TV Stand.
Metal-Framed Mobile Pallet TV Stand:
First, I repainted the metal frame in black matte. Next, I used pallet wood for the top, sides, and shelves. To have something with a finished and clean look, I wanted to glue the planks together and then plane them to create a laminated look. So, I chose my planks, planed them, glued them side-by-side and clamped firmly. I planed and sanded them smooth after they dried. To create the shelves and apron, I simply fitted the boards to the metal frame. Then I installed thin slats in the outer walls to create the shelf supports.

I applied a transparent stain to the boards. This was a relatively straightforward build, other than the cuts need to be very accurate to fit in the frame. The painting took me 1.5 hours for both layers. I completed the wood construction in about 4.5 hours (excluding drying times of glues and stain). I only used two pallets to create this, but I’m very pleased with the result.
Lors d’un détour dans un dépôt vente je suis tombé sur deux vieille desserte des 50 / 60. Une un peu rouillée les deux peintes dans un gris très moyen. Voyant le potentiel du meuble je décida d’acheter les deux et de les remettre en état et les transformer en meuble TV.
J’ai d’abord repeint la desserte en noir mat, ensuite je me suis attelé a crier un tablier pour le dessus et une étagère pour la partie intérieure du meuble. Afin d’avoir quelques chose de fini et propre j’ai décidé de tout faire avec la technique du lamellé collé. j’ai donc choisi mes planches, je les ai dégauchies, collées, rabotées et poncées.
Pour l’assemblage du contour de l’étagère, ainsi que pour le tablier, tout est simplement et la gravité et les contours métalliques font tenir la construction, pour ce qui est des planche, j’ai vissé des fines lattes dans les parois externes et déposés les planches dessus.
Pour la touche finale, une lasure transparente a été appliquée aux planches.
Pas de grand défi technique, à part une certaine concentration pour la précision des découpes afin que tout tienne bien.
La peinture m’a pris 1h30 pour les deux couches, la construction en bois quand a elle, m’as pris plus ou moins 4h30 (hors temps de séchage des colles et lasure)
Et donc 2 palettes et 6h plus tard, voici le résultat obtenu.
