These projects were created to give our garden a fresh look. Being a novice woodworker, both projects (planters and picnic table) took me about two weeks to complete including staining. I lined the inside of the planters with plastic to keep moisture to a minimum. The challenge in the creation of the picnic table were the legs. I wanted it to be collapsible but decided to secure the cross bracing using pocket hole screws to keep it stable. The top was put together using only pocket hole joinery. It just sits on top of the legs and can be stowed away when the wet season comes. Except for the planter bottoms which are 3/4 inch plywood, all wood materials are repurposed pallets.
