I created this End-grain Coffee Table using various reclaimed lumber, from softwood to hardwood varieties. I had fun fitting the wood pieces together in a crazy-quilt fashion.
Create an End-grain Coffee Table and have the kids help you fit the pieces together.
First, I secured the end cuts to an MDF base using wood glue. Then I secured them further using brad nails for longevity. The table frame is made of hardwood, and the legs are an old oak post. Once the glue has dried, I filled the gaps with wood filler and allowed it to dry. I sanded using different grades of sandpaper and sealed it with three layers of yacht varnish. The dimensions are 100cm wide x 50cm deep x 40cm tall.

Very nice!
