We built this Round-Window Kid's Pallet Playhouse to be sturdy and fun. We included a kid-sized deck/porch area and railings to keep the little ones safe. The whole playhouse was made using recycled materials. We had a huge pile of wood, parquet, paneling, beams, and more that we removed from our home during a renovation. We got tired of storing the wood and decided to put it to good use in this playhouse! This project took four days to finish, but it was worth it!

Round-Window Kid's Pallet Playhouse Foundation:

First, we created the foundation, making a rectangle for the playhouse, and an L-shape for the little porch/deck area. We used 2x6" beams to create most of the foundation, filling in some areas with reclaimed 2x4" boards. Next, we created the floor and deck using old parquet boards that we secured with nails. Our handy tip: Build the floor, nail it in place, and then trim off the excess with a circular saw. It's a lot easier than trying to be perfect with your cuts for every single board. The playhouse measures 1.60m tall - approx. 63" tall.

Round-Window Kid's Pallet Playhouse Frame:

While following the same logic, we have advanced to the frame construction. We used more recycled beams and created the large back wall. Then, we temporarily braced with boards, even though we secured it to the foundation.  Then, we framed out the other walls, using temporary braces as required for safety. Next, we covered the walls with pallet boards and cut the excess off as we went with a circular saw.

Round-Window Kid's Pallet Playhouse Windows:

We planned and cut the windows out at this time. To make the round windows, you can put a nail in the center of where you want the window, tie a string to it, and then hold a pencil at the radius length you want. Then, simply hold onto the string (it’s easy if you wrap it around the pencil a couple of times) and draw your circle.

Round-Window Kid's Pallet Playhouse– The Fun Touches:

I got an old slatted closet door that I cut into thirds. I made the front door out of two of the pieces and used the third to create shutters for the small window. Finally, we installed the railings on the porch/deck area. All that remained was to paint the trim with a good-quality exterior paint.
