First cut two boards to an even length. Align and use a chop/miter saw to cut the ends at 45 degrees. Next, attach the two square side pieces that will hold the two long sides together. You can cut the bottom board to fit between the flag pieces or cut to the outer width – it’s your preference. I cut the bottom board to fit within the long pieces for a clean look. Affix the boards together with nails (screws are okay too – just pre-drill to prevent splitting the wood). I drilled three holes in the bottom for drainage. Finally, I painted the box the USA flag and planted red white and blue flowers inside to match.
