This is a scale down version of what my wife and liked at church, pallet wood panels with a cross to hang on our living room wall. We wanted to begin a Bible Study group and dedicate this room to our Lord.
I built a basic flattened 2×4 back frame, with 1×3’s inset to use as nailers. Then, I cut in the cross with a circular saw for long cuts, a jigsaw on smaller cuts and corners. Finally, I added lights from the Christmas aisle of your favorite red bullseye store.
I found that using a Sawzall to cut the nails prevented the more seasoned pallet boards from cracking, resulting in less waste.
