To build this kids bed, I started off with some branches from a neighbours cherry tree, then I acquired some decking , and then an old pine bed and a couple of 3×3 struts off a large pallet.

I measured halfway up the wall and bolted one the 8ft struts to it I then used the other one as a corner post and a smaller baton along the wall by the door and one to the corner post and the long baton on the back all. I then screwed the decking board to the corner post and the baton on the wall by the door.

Then I screwed a 2 x2 baton all round to put on the bed slats to support the mattress this I made by cutting up an old memory foam mattress to fit as the bed was now 8’ long and just over 3’ wide, this was so that if I had all three at once they could all sleep together.

The foot board was was constructed of two old bed post and some off cuts from my wood collection. I had so much wood that I’d collected that I had to build a shed to keep it in, hopefully I will put this up at a later date.

Back to the bed I then built some steps so that they could climb up to the top bed, the underneath had a piece of memory foam on the floor for the kids to play on, some lights where installed and the cherry twigs employed to make it look like they were sleeping in a tree… Needless to say, they love it.
