For this Handy Catch-all Pallet Entryway Shelf, I used recycled pallets. Since I used recycled pallets, I adapted the size of the shelf to the pallets size I had at home.
Pallet Entryway Shelf:
I built this shelf to the following dimensions: 120 cm tall (approx. 47.2″), 100 cm wide (approx. 39.25″) and 45 cm deep (17.75″). Additionally, I built it with two shelves. I enclosed the back using plywood, but only to keep things from falling behind the shelving unit. Plywood is not heavy, and it didn’t add too much more weight to the shelving unit. Additionally, I added four casters to the bottom of the shelf for mobility. The two horizontal shelves at the top and bottom were added to hide the corner joints, so technically they’re decorative. However, they are functional for lightweight items, like umbrellas, lunch bags, and other things. This shelf is very simple but very useful for my family. Finally, I painted it with a tinted varnish to protect the wood.
