I made this Cute Kitchen Play Set using two pallets. The first pallet is the table top, while the second is the frame and backsplash. I stained the project and finished it with Danish oil. Additionally, I upcycled many of the nails already in the pallets for fasteners.
Make mud pies and dirt cakes fun with an excellent Kitchen Play Set!
I used additional 2.5″ and 3.5″ wood screws to help reinforce critical locations for stability, depending on thickness. I used two long stringer boards for the back support/backsplash, and more stringers for the three rungs of the backsplash. Offcuts were used to create a model gas stovetop surface, and the illusion reinforced with black paint. Optionally, make the stovetop removable and use the kitchen set as an outdoor kid’s craft table for fingerpainting, modeling clay, or even their own potting bench for new gardeners! I cut heart-shapes, attached them and drilled holes to accommodate S-hooks. Add toy rolling pins, pots, pans, and even your child’s name to complete this project.
