Here’s an idea for using some wasted and warped pallet wood slats. Turn them into a handy Pallet Wastebasket. For this project, I started with a piece of 1″ x 12″ and cut it into a 1-foot length. This cut left me with a rectangle that measured 11″ by 12″. That became the base of the wastebasket.

I fastened three or four slats on each side using a nail gun & 2″ finishing nails. Next, I cut four appropriate lengths of slats to join and enclose the top of the basket. I finished the project by fabricating a rim that fit inside the basket top which holds the plastic trash bag in place.
