I made this Rechargeable Battery Pack/Spotlight From Pallets for myself to add to my camping kit. I had an old AGM motorcycle battery I used to run some LED lights off. When I recently got a spare LED work light, I decided to make this unit.

Got a spare battery and some LED lights? Make your own Rechargeable Battery Pack/Spotlight From Pallets:

This project used off-cuts from other pallet projects.  I measured, cut, sanded, and stained the pieces before I started assembling. I started with a box for the battery, leaving clearance for the switch and wires. Next, I made the lid and handle. I drilled the required holes for mounting the electrical components and handle. Finally I coated all the stained wood with a few clear coats before installing the electrical components.

I wired the 2 bolts that mount the handle to either terminal of the battery for easy charging. Then I installed the remaining wires. I tested everything, and when I knew I had everything wired correctly, I was ready to close the box. I used a nail gun and brads to secure the lid in place. To finish, I sealed everything up with a hot glue gun to make it weatherproof.
