I made this Plywood-Topped Pallet Workbench out of two pallets and two different types/thicknesses of plywood. This project was completed in about ten hours but didn’t cost a penny.

My Plywood-Topped Pallet Workbench:

First, I cut the four legs to length from pallet stringers. After I had framed out the top of the bench, I secured it to the legs with wood screws. Next, I framed out the lower shelf to stabilize the bench. I installed a piece of plywood onto the top of the bench with more wood screws. Then I used a thicker piece of plywood on the lower shelf. This created a handy tool or supply storage area.

I installed the second pallet along the back of the bench and created a nice backboard to keep project pieces from rolling off. Optionally, if I install hooks, it’ll become a handy tool storage area, too. Finally, I used some leftover chipboard to close on the sides of the lower storage area.

Plywood-Topped Pallet Workbench – finishing the project:

I sanded everything to remove the jagged bits from the cut edges, and wiped the dust off. To finish, I applied oil to seal and protect the wood and moved the bench into place.
