This Industrial-Chic Pallet Mirror was something I made for a friend. I made it from two pallets and a leftover piece of plywood as the mirror backing. They mounted it up and used a commercial paper-towel dispenser in the blank portion on one side.
Industrial-Chic Pallet Mirror – dare to be different!
My friends wanted to elevate their bathroom from functional to industrial-chic and asked me to make them a mirror.
To begin, I cut the piece of plywood to the dimensions I wanted. I created a mirror frame with strips of pallet deck boards cut with mitered corners. Next, I trimmed the edge of the plywood with more pallet board strips, purposely matching up things like grain and knotholes. I glued and clamped the pieces, later securing them with brad nails. I trimmed everything out with a second layer, this time, mounted in a different direction, but still mitered the corners to give the piece some depth and interest.
To finish assembly, I installed the mirror and secured the trim around it.
