I made this Pallet Bench Storage Chest from poplar pallets. It is a handy bench to sit on and a storage area for toys, boots or whatever you want to put in there. I Added a 3/4″ rope at each end as lifting handles.
Pallet Bench Storage Chest:
First, I disassembled two pallets. Next, I cut the stringers to eight equal lengths to create the inner supports. I built both long sides and then the short sides, and joined them together by butt-joining the slats. Then, I covered the bottom of the crate to create the floor. The top bench is made with more stringer pieces to support the deck boards. I mounted them together and then installed the top with two large hinges. Finally, I added a chain to keep the top from falling open. Two pieces of rope became the carry handles. I applied a light stain and sealant. Hopefully, this project inspires you to create your own storage solutions. :)
