Recently, Alyssa and Matt of Simply Pallets gave one sixteen-year-old girl the birthday present of a lifetime! The girl’s mother reached out to Alyssa and Matt hoping they could use their ability to turn a pallet into art and make Gotham City of pallet wood. Using standard size pallet boards, they created two pieces, totaling 64″ across and 36″ high. The boards were cut, sanded, then placed on supports to create a wooden “canvas.” Next, Alyssa used Golden Pecan and Red Oak wood stain to create the Gotham City image. She did the entire painting free-hand- THERE IS NO PAINT ON THAT CANVAS!
Finally, letters provided by the customer were glued to the bottom of the canvas. After everything was done, the painting could easily be hung on the wall with key-hole hooks, even though it weighed close to fifty pounds! Gotham City never looked so good!
