Banc En Palette / Pallet Lounge Bench

I built this very comfortable Banc Pallet/Pallet Lounge Bench out of a total of four pallets. I took about 6 hours to build it, and my family is very pleased with it.

How I built this Pallet Lounge Bench:

I used wide, lead deck boards for the structural components, such as the legs and frame. I gently curved the lower frame legs for the seat portion to increase the comfort factor. For the back of the bench, I used most of the top deck of a pallet but took a time to round the corners. I did this both for the look and for the general comfort and feel of the piece. I also gently curved the back support boards.

I used two more of the wide lead deck boards as armrests. I rounded the leading edge, but curved the back edge and sanded the armrests very smooth for comfort. The backrest is set in at an angle so you can truly relax! I made the seat out of deck boards. I had to cut some to narrower widths to go around the front curve. This makes it comfortable on the backs of your legs.

Pallet Lounge Bench - the finish:

I carefully sanded all the edges. I didn't want it to have splinters or sharp edges around children. I did leave some of the rustic looks to the pallets, but I wanted it to be comfortable and safe for my family. I lightly stained it to a beautiful honey color, but you could finish it in some ways to your liking. It's important to think about safety when it is a project for your family. :D

We're happy with the outcome of this pallet lounge bench, and it is a fun addition to our family's relaxation time.

This is one of the nicest pallet benches I have seen! I love the way you rounded everything off – it makes it so much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it looks so comfy! Do you plan on painting it or leaving it as is? Just wondering – it would look great both ways.
Thanks so much for sharing.
