We made this Mirrored Pallet Vanity Set from 5 pallets and about 28 hours. The only costs associated with this build were for a large glass piece for the table top, a recessed light kit, and a mirror. However, you could always upcycle those items. We’ve included a video of our build for you to use as a reference tool.

Our Mirrored Pallet Vanity Set – Mirror Frame:

We began with a Euro pallet and removed the center and outer stringer set. Next, we turned one stringer set so that the pallet blocks were facing down and secured from the rear. Then, we removed half of the top deck boards to create an open space for the mirror. We cut the center stringer into separate pieces and installed as shelving (see 2nd picture). We installed another deck board along the bottom to stabilize the three blocks after installation to the desk. Next, we realigned the deck boards on the filled-in side to be evenly spaced for better visual appeal. We followed the manufacturer’s directions for proper installation of a recessed light kit. The kit was mounted on the top, and we added an additional board on end to support the lights.

Our Mirrored Pallet Vanity Set – Vanity Desk:

First, we cut another Euro pallet in half just beyond the center stringer lengthwise to create the top. Additionally, we cut another pallet and then used one-half as the left side leg for the table to create storage. We wanted the right side to be thinner to create leg room, so we built that from leftover boards. Then, we cut deck boards into narrower strips and applied them to the outside of the right leg. Finally, we partially enclosed the back with an upper deck of a pallet applied to span across both legs. We attached the deck securely to both legs and table top to stabilize everything.

Our Mirrored Pallet Vanity Set – Vanity Desk Storage/Drawers:

We added additional storage on the left desk leg by putting a deck board behind the forward set of blocks and used a scrap to create a tiny shelf. We created small, flush-mount drawers for the desk from leftover deck boards, and butt-joined the drawers. Then we made the drawer bottoms from more deck boards. Two knobs finished this portion.

Our Mirrored Pallet Vanity Set – The Chair & Finishing Touches:

To begin, we cut down a pallet to the size of the chair seat we desired. Next, we cut down some deck boards and created the legs, then installed them into the bottom of the pallet. We added deck boards around the base of the chair to stabilize the legs and more scrap pieces under the seat as well. The chair back is a simple design of two vertical deck boards crossed by two horizontal deck boards. We added some fine mesh wire to fill in the opening. Finally, we installed more “chicken wire” into the vanity as a convenient jewelry holder. Then, we applied a glass top to the table, attached the vanity, and varnished/waxed the entire project.
