I started with a pocket door as the base, as it was almost the precise size I needed without cutting the door. I measured each piece to fit precisely and used 1+1/4″ drywall screws to attach to the door. I had to glue a few small pieces in the corners, but the rest was quickly screwed on. For the edge, I used recycled construction stakes from a pile left sitting for several months. I used the frame from a set of French doors as the legs. It took about 4 hours total to assemble, and I think the light and dark wood used creates an interesting focal point for the piece.
