My intent is to produce frames that both complement my paintings and utilize some ingenuity and originality of design. After disassembling and sorting the pallets into species and sizes, I visualize a design utilizing the character of the wood, the distress factors that I want to include or eliminate. Sometimes I leave the wood in the rough sawn configuration, while other times I surface and true it up for gluing. I incorporate various hardware as decoration as well as assembly methods. I love the weathered look of the wood with the natural stains but admit to enhancing the distressing somewhat if needed. I feel we are reusing material that would be wasted by eventually ending up in landfills and giving a second life to material that has been discarded.
Do you sell custom frames?
