I made this Pallet Storage Shed/Cabin from pallets and other reclaimed wood, some wood screws, and my own labor. It measures 85 x 110 inches (approx. 7 x 9′ shed). I did purchase a Porter Cable 6-tool Combo Set to finish the job.

Pallet Storage Shed/Cabin Floor & Walls:

First, I cleared and leveled a spot in my yard. Next, I used several pallets and laid them down as the flooring. I split other pallets apart and used the deck boards to create a diagonal flooring, putting the boards up against one another tightly. Next, I framed out the walls using two layers of pallets to create the height I wanted. I secured them together vertically and horizontally with screws. I also ran long 2×4″ boards through the tops and secured the pallets to the board for additional stability. Then, I clad the outside of the shed with more deck boards and used recycled plywood panels to finish out the inside. I spanned across the top with long boards and created a roofing frame. Finally, I topped it with more plywood.

Pallet Storage Shed/Cabin – the Door and Finish Framing:

I created a light door using long deck boards, and only screwed them together with boards along the top and bottom. Then, I framed out the door opening and reinforced the header area. Then, I upcycled some hinges and mounted the door in place. I placed a few pallets on the outside for a place to stand as I exited/entered the cabin. I may roof and paint it in the long-term, but for now, I’m excited that the project is built.

Editor’s note: Be sure to check with your local planning/zoning department and/or code enforcement departments to verify the maximum size and location of sheds/cabins, etc. Some areas have very strict easement requirements, as well as size, height, and clearance from fence lines. This project is submitted for inspiration and entertainment only. 1001pallets.com is in no way responsible for any citations incurred for projects built.

If you need a bigger shed, we can still give you inspiration. Check out this extra large shed!
