I designed this table when I was living in a little apartment, where there was no place for a big table for dinner, and a living room table. So taking for reference the traditional pallet table, I include an elevator to the top, that move it 15cm, up, and a few forward, so you can take breakfast, or lunch on the sofa, leaving out the second table in the same place.

I like this. I would make a small bookshelf, with a ledge to keep them from falling off, on both sides - especially if one was wanting to save space.
