I wanted to create something unique and personal to hang on my walls. I created this decorative pallet wall art using two flat pallets that already had amazing texture and colors. First, I had to clean and then sand them down fairly smooth. I then painted them with white PVA. I gently sanded again and then I did some distressing in areas by sanding a little more to simulate wear.

Making it Personal:

I love the idea of different textures – it’s much more visually appealing! To obtain this, I added some netting and lace into some of the open spaces between the boards. I broke up the tile and then applied that to the frame, again adding texture and tone. Then I added wording, a distressed frame and wooden decorative pieces that I had purchased. I always collect items that can be used for my woodwork.

This was fun and easy, and can be done in a variety of ways to suit your decorative style! This could be a fun family project as well!
