Want high fashion, but the hardware is overpriced? This Sliding Barn Door Style Pallet TV Stand has the solution for about 15 bucks, and it’s brilliant!
We used several 2.5″ x 3.25″ boards for the frame in this Sliding Barn Door Style Pallet TV Stand. Additionally, we used a sheet of plywood for the bottom shelf, middle shelf, and the back. This helped with the weight of the stand a LOT. Next, we stripped down the more pallet boards and trimmed them as needed to fit the four sides. The opening for the front is the same size as the opening in the back. Your sizes may vary from ours depending on the size of stand you are making. To make this easier, we butt-joined everything. Our total cost is around 80 dollars. :)
I know hardware for sliding doors is expensive, so we use a C channel and closet door rollers for the doors. (This cost us about $15) We made a lip at the top of the stand that overhangs the track. This will prevent the wheels from lifting off of the track when you add your hardware. The project measurements are 54″ long x 36″ tall x 20″ deep.
