This Pallet Corner Garden Lounge Set was a relatively easy build. If I can make it, trust me, anyone can! It took me longer than the average person, but then that was to be expected as I have Multiple Sclerosis. I had to stop and start to give my body a rest. However, it’s a GREAT project!
I used 10 euro pallets as they are a great size if you are using cot mattresses for the padding. Also, I used six cot mattresses which I bought from Facebay as I like and need my comfort. Additionally, I upholstered everything in a fully waterproof material so it can stay out all summer – which means at least a few days as I live in Scotland, ha ha!
First, I started with 10 Euro pallets. I stacked two pallets on top of one another and secured them with screws. To make the full Pallet Corner Garden Lounge Set I repeated this two more times. With the remaining four pallets, I simply trimmed them to the height I wanted, but otherwise left them intact as back rests. Next, I covered the front and sides of the lounge set with 1×4 pine boards for a more finished look. I added more pine boards across the top of the seat backs as well. Then I covered the seats with plywood for even support.
I spent a little more than the typical project, but the vast majority of the expense was for the cot mattresses and upholstery material. However, it was worth it!
I used Cuprinol Garden Shades paint in a bright white, as I thought it would be a terrific backdrop for the blue upholstery material. Plus, the Cuprinol is a good-quality outdoor paint that will help protect my new furniture.
I backlit using LEDs bought from eBay for under £10 so it can be used anytime; not only on light nights. I hope the photos show you the step by step process for this build, and you make your own!
