This Pallet Wood Jewelry Box project took very little material, and all the wood came from a single pallet. I found a very weathered hardwood pallet, and just used the top deck boards and tossed the runners.
Why hide your pretty jewelry away? This nifty little Wall-Mounted Pallet Wood Jewelry Box lets you display it all with pride!
First, I attached the boards that form the back of the jewelry box with three 1/2″ x 1″ strips and 3/4″ pan head screws. The pan head screws are the only mechanical fasteners I used. I glued the rest of the jewelry box using wood glue. Pre-drill the boards for the hook installation before installing the sides. Install the hooks after the frame is assembled, sanded and finished. Use only fine grit sandpaper like 220-grit to maintain the rustic look. Heavier grits remove the wood’s patina. I applied a satin finish water-based clear coat after sanding the entire piece. Apply four coats, sanding between each layer). I already had all the materials, but between the screws, hooks, clear coat and wood glue, this project probably costs around $15 to make. Now, you can proudly show your upcycled jewelry!
Make LED landscaping lights from PVC pipes. It’s time to turn those old wristwatches into a Pallet Wall Clock.
