First, I applied a light base coat of white with some of the wood showing through. Put a small amount of paint on the brush to create a worn, weathered appearance, or sand along the edges where old furniture wears. Next, I used paint samples from my local craft store and paint store and created the pumpkin. Using craft acrylic paints from my local craft store and also paint samples from a local paint store I painted the pumpkin and lettering. After it dried, I sprayed a coat of clear sealer on top, and when dry, I glued some fake flowers and leaves.
