This Walnut Two Tier Pallet Book Shelf is my first pallet project. It measures 48″ x 20″. I cut the top half of the pallet off and removed the back boards to make the project a lot lighter. It was approximately 12 lbs after taking all of that off the pallet. It is a relatively easy project.
Light, Airy Walnut Two Tier Pallet Book Shelf:
I installed a horizontal shelf on top of the upper blocks and the lower blocks. The shelf was much lighter after removing the excess boards along the back of the pallet. Additionally, I framed in the blocks for a more finished look. Then I sanded everything smooth. I stained it in a black walnut color and finished with a couple of coats of polyurethane. Despite the pallet being in rough shape, we feel our Walnut Two Tier Pallet Book Shelf project turned out quite well.
