I wanted something to add a splash (or more) of color to my wall, but I didn’t want to do just a hanging plant. I wanted something unique. So, we decided to make this fast, fun, and free Pallet Vertical Planter. It only took a few hours to transform pallet pieces into a beautiful, and functional planter for my wall.
Pallet Vertical Planter – a little info.:
First, I cut a pallet in half just past the center stringer. Next, I added extra boards in the center to support a liner, potting soil, and plantings. Leave the center board a little wider than the frame so you can use it to mount the planter. I sanded down everything somewhat smooth, but still kept it identifiable as pallet wood. Finally, I added more wood to the side of the house to rest the bottom of the frame onto.
Pallet Vertical Planter – the fun part:
I lined the pallet frame with a heavy-duty plastic. If you’re going to do a herb garden, you’ll want to use a food-grade plastic. Secure the plastic with a staple gun or nails with wide heads. Next, I filled it with potting soil and then made small slits in through the plastic to put the cheery little plants in. We can’t wait until some of the plants really grow and begin to cover more of the plastic – which some of our photos show that it’s already happening. It’ll make for a pleasant place to have a cup of … (you fill in the blank). Imagine a herb garden – wouldn’t that be nice too?

I see all these neat things that I can build with pallets so I just had to join.
There are many things you can do with recycled pallets, you just have to use your imagination … regards
J’ai le même genre :)
