I made this Green Balcony Pallet Table / Seating from an upcycled cable spool and two EPAL pallets. I’ve had a wooden spool lying around my house for months. I found it outside a construction site, and no one wanted it, so I carried it to my place. I also had two small pallets lying around so together they were perfect for my balcony.
How I turned these leftovers into my Green Balcony Pallet Table / Seating:
After sanding them both, I applied a coat of primer and allowed it to dry for one day. I chose green as the main color and I applied three coats, with the exception of a stripe, that was only one coat. Then I used an extra strong varnish used for outside furniture, and I coated it twice.
I added four wheels to the table, and I connected the two pallets with nails. From previous experience, I knew that my drill was not strong enough, so I went straight to the nails. I did not add any wheels to the pallet chair since I didn’t think they would hold the extra weight. Fingers crossed that it can withstand the elements!
Editor’s note: (1) – love the green color. (2) Here’s a resource if your wooden projects begin to succumb to the elements: See our “Tutorials” section for an article on Protecting and Restoring Outdoor Furniture. Happy Palleting!
