Here’s a sturdy, attractive Pallet Fish Tank Pedestal made entirely from pallet wood. The top measures 27″x 16″, & the base is 24″x 14″. I took the door screen from a chinchilla enclosure that I upgraded the doors on a while ago.
How to build your own Pallet Fish Tank Pedestal:
First, I cut down stringer boards to create 24″ x 14″ frames and used simple butt-joints and wood screws to secure. I used the sections of stringer boards that have the forklift arches on the front and back. The sides of the frames were from the non-arched stringer board sections. The verticals are more 2″x 4″ boards. I attached deck boards to cover the back section first to provide a place for a straight edge. A straight edge was clamped in place to start the top. I cut the tabletop boards at a diagonal for a little extra style and installed them in place. Finally, I covered the two sides with more deck boards.
I framed out the front and mitered the corners, and built a little door for storage. I installed the door in place with simple hinges and a barrel latch. To finish the door, I covered the inside with some upcycled screen from a pet enclosure.
I sanded everything down fairly smooth, but I didn’t bother filling any of the holes or getting the boards perfect. I like the rustic look of this Pallet Fish Tank Pedestal, and trust it to be strong enough support a full fish tank supplies.
