Here’s a simple and fun summertime project – make yourself a garden pallet swing chair! You only need one pallet and some good, sturdy chain!

Here’s how I built my Garden Swinging Chair:

I cut the pallet roughly in half. I used one-half of it as the backrest and used some of the leftover deck boards to make the armrests and reinforcements. Then I mounted the chains down through the armrests and attached them securely to the bottom of the swinging chair. This was an easy project that will bring a lot of fun to the backyard.

I like the idea but have a question on the design. Would it not be better to fasten the chains directly to the bottom of the swing rather than thru the armrests due to the side load on the armrests when in use?

Interesting point. If you make one yourself, PLEASE let us know if that makes a difference in functionality. Happy Palleting!
