You can build multi-tasking projects with pallets, including this handy Pallet Coffee Table/TV Stand. I decide a project by the materials I have on hand or plan to use. I try to pick pieces that will give the piece character as well as stability.
How I made this multi-tasking Pallet Coffee Table/TV Stand:
I used a whole pallet for this project, and it took about four hours, including the application of the stain. I assembled it with screws. The challenge when you build a table from pallets: making sure it is square, or your table will wobble! I choose the wood and the finish based on what type of pallet wood I have. I think the combination of the finish and wood character really adds that extra charm. I chose to leave a rustic finish, and rough-sanded the piece, but left a lot of the marks, stamps, etc., intact for interest.
I love the color of stain I chose but did not like the brand of stain I used. It was very messy and would probably switch to another brand that is more workable.
I really enjoyed this project and hope that somebody can enjoy it!
I love it. I usually like the natural wood color of the pallets, which is always a nice surprise to me when I sand off the ugly grey they turn in the weather, but on this piece, I love the dark. I made a cabinet out of mostly pallets and this color of stain for my grandson last year, and it was styled like this, really nice, clean lines, and smooth corners. I used Minwax stain, and the color was called Jacobean. It worked really well for me. You did a great job.
