My roommate and I are both in Air Force ROTC, and we are both aspiring pilots. We also happen to have the same favorite airframe, the A-10 Warthog. I got bored while home on summer break so I took a single pallet and made this for our living room at school. I'm sure this has been done before, but I just thought I would share because I am pretty much in love with it.
The actual work time is probably only 3 or 4 hours, but I was using a 60-year-old scroll saw that did not cut very well. The paint is just whatever was on sale at Ace, and I weathered it (or at least tried) with some Minwax Cherry stain. Then I put on a couple of coats of clear coat, which was also on sale at Ace. The whole project cost me like $10 and took the better part of a day from very start to very end.
I made the outline of the Warthog by finding a picture on Google Images and then uploading it to www.blockposters.com. Then I just cut it out with a Xacto knife and taped it to the boards.
