I was struck by the simple beauty of some boxes/crates that I saw on this site and decided to make my own rustic version.
It is very basic and purposely unfinished. It’s a 12″ cube made from pallet slats and fastened with 18° brads. I made handle cut outs by joining 2 circular holes (2.25″ hole saw) with my jigsaw. I tried to do just with the jigsaw, but my skills aren’t there yet, lol. I don’t have a wood burning fireplace, but I think it would look nice holding small logs/kindling…or fresh fruit.
Going to experiment with different dimensions and adding text/embellishments. One day would like to have a nice line that I could market on Craigslist or Etsy…Thanks guys for inspiration.
Maybe that’s what I was looking for all along!
