I wanted to share my Pallet Pyrography Wall Art. This only required a few things: a few pallet deck boards, mahogany stain, a pyrography tool with a few different bits, and graphite paper (carbon paper). What it required a bit more of was PATIENCE, but I’m happy with the results.
How I made my Pallet Pyrography Wall Art:
First, I needed a canvas, so I used several deck boards and attached them to other boards with nails. You need to be careful to choose deck boards that fit together fairly tightly; no gaps will work well for this type of project. Next, I prepped the wood, sanding it down fairly smooth. I applied a mahogany stain and allowed it to dry. Finally, I chose the graphics and images I wanted, printed them out and put them over the graphite paper and traced the images onto the board.
Pallet Pyrography Wall Art – Time to BURN:
Then, time for patience. Lots of patience. It is important to take your time so you can work at shading – it’s a light touch. You can always go over it more to darken an area, but to lighten something; you have to sand.
Editor’s note: If you haven’t tried pyrography, it’s a fun additional finishing technique to add to your repertoire. If you don’t have a pyrography tool, you can use a soldering iron. One with an adjustable thermostat can be handy, but be warned that it can damage your soldering tips – so use ones that are wearing out or are reasonable to replace.
That looks the business, I’ve gotta try this.
Luv it!
I love it
Great job
