I made this Sturdy Comfy Pallet Bench using 3×3 legs and frame with 2×4″s that I reinforced around the frame for extra support. I stained it with a Red Mahogany / Dark Walnut 50-50 mix to get the color I wanted and sealed it with polyurethane.
Sturdy Comfy Pallet Bench -Outdoor Spaces or the Man Cave, pallets make great price-conscious seating!
First, I cut down some 3×3″ posts to the height I wanted. Next, I framed out the top, using two deck boards on each side for additional support. I cut 2×4″ boards for the cross-pieces and secured everything with screws. Next, I covered the top with more pallet deck boards and sanded everything relatively smooth. I applied a 50-50 blend of stains and allowed it to dry. Then I finished it off with a polyurethane sealant, and now have a sturdy, comfortable bench to use!
Since you’re getting comfy on this bench, how about a Garden Lounger?
