We wanted a wide, sturdy coffee table, and nothing these days seems to fit the bill. Instead, I built this Wide Chevron 5 Pallet Coffee Table for forty bucks!
Wide Chevron 5 Pallet Coffee Table:
I built this table with the dimensions as follows: 36 in wide x 48 in long x 18 in high (leg height). I used five reclaimed pallets, but not all the deck boards were salvageable. Additionally, I purposely mixed both hard and soft woods for the different tones and feel. I used various grits, starting at a coarse and finishing with a fine grit to make the table quite smooth. Eventually, I’ll apply a stain and sealer, and have bought Antique Walnut Stain (not yet applied). I used screws as the primary fastening method, and countersunk the screw heads. This prevented hitting the screws during sanding!
Great job, and that’s a table built to last! How about some Artwork now that you have that beautiful showpiece table?
