I crafted this No Slack Pallet American Flag from pallet wood. I painted it and then lightly sanded it to create a worn finish.
First, break down a pallet. See our guide for information on how to take apart a pallet. Next, use two deck boards to create the support frame. Then, layout your boards, “good” side down, and put the two support frame boards across the deck boards. Install the support frame onto the deck boards from the back, to prevent adding more holes to the front of the piece. Then, sand down the boards the way you want, and remove the dust with a very lightly damp cloth or tack cloth. Paint your design onto the wood using acrylic paint. Finally, sand down after the paint has dried to create a more worn finish. Mount the artwork on the wall and enjoy it!
