I made this Super Easy Rustic Pallet Photo Hanger because I had a photo I took and blown up to a large size. It was a gorgeous view of Chicago’s skyline from a restaurant while out with my sweetheart. For the longest time, I wasn’t sure how I was going to hang it.
One day, I came across the photo and thought a piece of pallet wood would be perfect. All it took was the piece of wood, some small screw-in eye hooks, jute twine, and little screws.
Super Easy Rustic Pallet Photo Hanger:
First, I found a piece of pallet wood that was already the right length from my scrap pile, so I didn’t have to cut it. I made sure that I picked a piece of wood with a lot of character, and only sanded away any splintery edges. Then, I put the eye hooks in on edge. Next, I simply laid the photo on the pallet wood and attached it with the screws. The photo print was free, so I wasn’t too concerned with its value. Lastly, I strung some jute twine through the hooks, put a galvanized nail in the wall, and hung it up. Super fast, super cheap, and it looks cool too! Budget-friendly, fast, and fun. Three of my favorite things.
Editor’s note: A fun variation that’ll allow you, even more, flexibility is to mount a few wooden clothespins to the board so you can change the photos out. You just twist the clothespins slightly, and the spring mechanism allows enough room to get a drill and then a screw into each to secure one side of the clothespin to the board. That allows you to display one lovely, large picture like this crafter did, or to hang several little photos up. :)
