Pallet Bed Railing

This simple Pallet Bed Railing is a great idea to add some safety to your little one’s bed. It only needs a few pieces from one pallet, too!

Here’s how I made this Pallet Bed Railing:

First, I used a pallet stringer board and cut it to length – most of the length of the bed. Next, I sanded it smooth and rounded the edge where my little one would enter and exit the bed. Then I cut two stringer boards in half, and then to the height, I wanted the railing at. I cut small pieces of another stringer to the length of the bottom of the railing board to the pallet bed frame (this will obviously vary based on your child’s href=”%view_link%” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>bed and height requirements, etc.). Next, I “sandwiched” the small length of stringer between the top railing board and the two deck board pieces that were placed on either side of the top railing. Finally, I used screws to fasten everything together, ensuring that no fastener tips protruded.

Finishing This simple Pallet Bed Railing:

I sanded all the pieces thoroughly to remove any splinters or rough edges. Then I applied a polyurethane to seal it all up. It was an easy project, but will provide a lot of safety for my little one. I think this is a good idea for little ones transitioning out of a crib and into their beds, too. :)
