With limited space comes excellent inspiration. Look at this Folding Pallet Computer Desk/Chair that’s built out of a little more than one pallet, some plywood, and some craft rope!
Here’s a little information on my Folding Pallet Computer Desk/Chair:
To build the folding computer desk I used one pallet, and additional loose pallet boards that a local pallet shop had. Also, I used a piece of plywood and some craft rope. I sanded the large pallet down until it wasn’t splintery, and set it aside. Next, I found a piece of scrap plywood, but it was a little thin, so I added some decorative pallet boards in a chevron shape on the bottom side to strengthen it. Plus, this looks good when the desk is in the upright position. The advantage of using a light piece of wood is that I didn’t have to buy specialty hinges. I hinged the plywood along the bottom inside so that when closed they weren’t visible. Finally, I used the craft rope to help hold the table in place when open.
The folding table is mounted a little higher so that I can use it standing if I chose for quick computer usage or taking a message. If I want to spend more time on the computer, I use the tall bench I built. This is a straightforward assembly, but it does have a secret: pocket joints (such as the Kreg jig pocket system). It’s an easy way to make sturdy joints that are easily hidden. To finish, I stained everything and sealed it with a water based polyurethane. Hopefully, my projects inspire you to use small spaces in big ways!
Ethan Olin!! You could do something like this for shelves not just a computer
Serious wall anchors idk if I wanna do that
But good idea
Could u send me some plans and measurements? I’d really appreciate it, we started home schooling this year and this would simplify our lives drastically!!
Great idea, like the sloping seat chairs and the mitres in the detail.
